From the 7 November, Extensive measures are being implemented in our country to deal with the second wave of the pandemic, corresponding to those of other countries around the world.
These include drastic restrictions on social and economic functioning, even in the mobility of citizens. Their consequences for the country and its citizens are painful, but the intensity of the threat did not allow for hesitation. Long and the list of individuals, family, collective and national events that we have been deprived of to protect public health.
Normally, the universality of the measures would not allow derogations, which however occurred, sometimes with the tolerance of their oversight bodies and the State as a whole. During the health crisis, we witnessed even mass rallies that "played" with the limit but clearly violated the spirit of the law.
The recent resurgence of the phenomenon, which despite the significant strengthening of the national health system is testing its endurance, does not justify any deviation, which in the end causes the common feeling.
The anniversary of the Polytechnic.
Already from the pre-quarantine, the 6the November, It was announced that the restrictive measures will be applied on the anniversary of the Polytechnic, something that applied to Orthodox holidays and events for national and local liberation anniversaries. The provision was for a small representation of the parties. There was no significant confrontation then.
In the recent debate in Parliament on tackling the pandemic, made it clear by the government that marches and gatherings will not be allowed on the anniversary of the Polytechnic. Nothing new, the self-evident ban was simply repeated. And that happened because, obviously, the reaction lurked, which manifested itself immediately with a declaration of disobedience (disobedience) by representatives of parliamentary parties!
Stupid things. The event was not banned∙ marches and gatherings were forbidden! It was taken, Moreover, and a relevant consultation initiative by the Minister of Civil Protection. It was, therefore, unnecessary "we will be there and come and arrest us" pseudo-magic. They followed, in fact, extreme statements and intolerable parallels, which further infected the -literally- unhealthy environment. Those who decide to join extremists, deniers and conspiracy theorists, let them take responsibility.
Unfortunately, the political forces that in our country have arbitrarily monopolized democratic sensibilities, decided at the most inopportune moment to speculate, contemptuous - on the verge of conscious negligence- the risk of spreading the disease and being provocatively indifferent to its effects on the lives of citizens.
It should, Nevertheless, to have realized it: the era of ideological immunity and artificial division has passed irrevocably.
We will respect all the rules imposed by the circumstances and based on our democratic conquests, we will walk the path of logic and progress.
