The process of the Population-Housing Census is in full swing 2021 carried out by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

Inventory through personal interviews -The three ways

According to ELSTAT there are three ways:
• The ELSTAT Enumerator visits every house that was not registered electronically, obligatorily applying the current measures for the protection of public health.
• If the household wishes for a live interview, The questionnaire will be completed either inside or outside the residence, in compliance with the applicable public health protection measures. At the end of the interview will be given the Inventory Certificates for the people who will
inventory.
• If the household does not want a live interview: a) The Inventor will leave the printed questionnaire to the household and will agree to
the day and time of receipt of the completed questionnaire at which time he will give the Inventory Certificates for the persons to be inventoried or b) The Enumerator will make a telephone appointment to complete the questionnaire, by telephone interview and will agree on the day and time to deliver the Inventory Certificates to the individuals to be inventoried.
It is noted that in the framework of the Census no sensitive personal data is collected.
How do I single out the ELSTAT enumerators?
During their work, the approx 60.000 Inventors and 12.500 Heads of ELSTAT carry, in addition to their police ID, special badge with the ELSTAT mark, in which their details are listed, as well as a definition form with their photo and a stamp of ELSTAT.
In addition, are obliged to comply with all necessary measures to protect public health from the risk of further spread of Coronavirus COVID-19. People living in collective accommodation such as camps, camps, monasteries, Accommodation structures for immigrants / refugees and unaccompanied minors, Immigrant / Refugee Reception and Identification Centers, nursing homes, boarding schools, asylum, chronic diseases clinics, Homeless accommodation structures, etc.. are inventoried exclusively by specialist Inventors, through the personal interview process.
What data are collected during the Census
It is pointed out that through the Census the population of Greece is counted in each Regional Unit, Municipality or Community and independent settlement, covering the whole Territory (mainland Greece, Islands, border areas), while at the same time data are collected on the demographic and social characteristics of the population and its housing conditions.
General Censuses are conducted based on common methodological principles, rules and specifications in accordance with the provisions of Union law (EC Regulation 763/2008) as well as in the Law 4772/2021 (A' 17).
As mentioned above, participation in the Census is mandatory and the information collected is confidential, are not transmitted or disclosed to any public or private body and are used only for the production of aggregate statistics. It is emphasized that in the framework of the Census no sensitive personal data is collected.
