On the occasion of the recent announcements of the PPC Management regarding the provision of discounts and reliefs to households and businesses, the Member of Parliament for Grevena, K. Andreas Patsis made the following statement:
"We could not but welcome the decision of the Management of the Public Electricity Company to provide discounts and relief to vulnerable households and businesses, which, after the pressures of the ten-year crisis, were also confronted with the effects of the pandemic in most areas of economic activity. Improvements in PPC's pricing policy are also an essential part of society., which I had transferred months ago through the parliamentary procedure by submitting a relevant Question to the competent Ministry.
To the same Question, I had also pointed out the need to provide greater facilities for debt settlement, by freezing their recovery for the duration of the pandemic and its consequent economic consequences and extending the installments, so that affected businesses and households can meet these obligations. Especially for the region of Western Macedonia, one of the least robust areas of our country, with very high unemployment rates and in the face of the coming transformation of the post-lignite era, The adoption of mitigation and facilitation initiatives is imperative as they constitute essential support measures and a channel of indirect support to the most important problem currently observed and is none other than the lack of liquidity.. Therefore, along with the satisfaction we express for the recent announcements of PPC, αναμένουμε και την επέκταση των ευνοϊκών αυτών πρωτοβουλιών σε ό τι αφορά και τους διακανονισμούς οφειλών».
