In an innovative intervention in order to turn Kastoria into a recognized tourist and cultural destination with a distinct strategic identity (branding strategy) The Municipality of Kastoria is moving forward, after the inclusion of the act "Implementation of strategic branding (branding) for the region of Kastoria "in the Regional Operational Program" Western Macedonia 2014-2020 ", on a budget 100.000 euro.
The project envisages the adoption of specific promotion and promotional actions to highlight the physiognomy and comparative advantages of our region, in the context of an integrated strategic approach to strengthen the positive correlations with the name of Kastoria.
It includes actions that will contribute to the highlighting of the special features and the physiognomy of the destination "Kastoria", forming a distinct identity that will contribute to the notification and establishment of Kastoria in a recognizable tourist destination.
The program, which will be completed by the end of it 2023, is expected to create a positive image and reputation for Kastoria and its tourist "product", enhancing the attractiveness of the place, which will result in the largest influx of visitors to the Municipality of Kastoria and the wider increase of tourist flows and traffic in our area.
In more detail, the act concerns the elaboration of a city-branding study for the tourist destination "Kastoria", which will include, including, issues such as the recording and evaluation of tourism resources, the visitor market research, operational, bodies, the identification of target groups of the image of Kastoria etc.. The study will result in the Kastoria brand application guide, the design and production of destination information material, as well as special type signs, for pedestrians and cyclists, which will be placed in recognizable places of the city.
The operation is part of the actions of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (ΣΒΑΑ) of the Municipality of Kastoria.
