The availability of the new application for mobile phones and devices (mobile app), announced the National Blood Donation Center (Ε.ΚΕ.Α.) and the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures-EDYTE SA(GRNET), body of the Ministry of Digital Government, facilitating the access of blood donors registered in the National Blood Donor Register(EMA)on the blood donor tab.
The app is currently only available for Android devices and offers an easy-to-use way to access the National Blood Donor Registry, which is a unified innovative information system that brings together Blood Donation Services in a single database, Voluntary Blood Donors and Voluntary Blood Donor Associations.
Downloading the EMA application for free in Greek or English, user, already registered in the National Register of Blood Donors, can log in to his account, by entering your username and password.
With the application, updating the blood donor becomes easier than ever. Users of the application can:
- to have access to the details of the account they have created by registering in the National Register of Blood Donors,
- apply for a voluntary blood donor ID or view their identity,
- to see personalized statistics on the blood donations in which they have participated,
- be informed of when they can donate blood again and
- ask any questions about Coreper.
The application was implemented by EDYTE SA. in the context of the action “Electronic Services for the National Blood Donation System” of the Operational Program “Public Sector Reform” and is co-financed by the European Social Fund and national resources.
The National Register of Blood Donors (EMA)
The National Register of Blood Donors (EMA) implemented by EDYTE SA. the 2013 in the context of the act “Central Electronic Management Services of the National Register of Volunteer Blood Donors” of the Operational Program “Digital convergence” (NSRF 2007 – 2013), with the aim of technologically modernizing the blood donation process. In the current period EDYTE SA. cooperates with EKEA, in the context of the act “Electronic Services for the National Blood Donation System” of the Operational Program “Public Sector Reform” (NSRF 2014 – 2020), to expand the functionality of Coreper.
Coreper is an integrated innovative information system, whose operation has catalytically contributed to the simplification and acceleration of blood donation procedures, as well as enhancing the safety and quality of blood and blood products. Among other things, with the operation of Coreper it became possible to issue and provide Voluntary Blood Donor IDs to voluntary donors, the keeping of a single history per blood donor, the immediate finding of rare blood groups, improving the process of registering blood units through the operation of an online system, exporting statistics and raising awareness to attract new volunteer blood donors. In addition, Coreper is a tool for EKEA to monitor blood collection at national level and to develop a framework for determining the equitable distribution of unstable blood products in times of severe shortage. In the current period, the expansion of the functionality of Coreper also concerns the support of new services, such as the possibility of an appointment for the blood donor, the management of voluntary blood donor associations, informing blood donors, the registration of blood tests, etc.. also, ensures the continued production and distribution of Voluntary Blood Donor Identities.
Coreper is used by all Blood Donation Services in the country, by organized Associations / Groups of Volunteer Blood Donors and voluntary blood donors.
