The steadily increasing trend of new retirement applications to e-EFKA in recent years is gaining alarming proportions., as on the one hand they contribute significantly to the delay observed in the adoption of final decisions, on the other hand, they show that the Greek population is aging, resulting in a dramatic deterioration in the relationship between policyholders and retirees. At the same time, after all, the number of pending main pension applications remains constant, at 157.966 in November 2020 against 158.528 in the corresponding month 2019. The total cost of paying the arrears is estimated at 593,55 million. euro. As it results from the official data of e-EFKA, outstanding issues increased significantly in 2019, as by 115.878 in January 2019 launched at 162.427 a year later. The summer elections had preceded, the change of government and, as e-EFKA points out, large number of retirement claims that at the end of it 2019 found that they had not been registered for many months.
The elements of the "Atlas" system, published yesterday by the management of e-EFKA, are revealing. For 2020 it is estimated that, based on data from the first ten months of the year, the number of new main pension applications will rise to about 162.000. The data refer to the 11 months of January - November and show that they had already been submitted 147.733 new retirement applications. The rate of exit from the labor market to retirement is increasing from 2017 founded by e-EFKA, with the phenomenon appearing more intense in the four months of September - December 2019 (increase 18,53% – 9.494 more new applications than in the corresponding period 2018). Applications are recorded based on the submission date, instead of the date of entry in the information system in the past. As e-EFKA notes, at the end of it 2019 It was found that there were a large number of requests which had not been registered for many months. At the end 2017 had been submitted 145.555 new retirement applications, the 2018 closed with 155.121 new applications, while the increase at the end was even greater 2019, with new applications reaching 165.670. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic but also intense reactions that largely led to the change of the Minister of Labor, his last months 2020, as shown by the data, there has been an effort to speed up procedures and issue more new definitive main pensions. In this, sure, Atlas digital award system also helped, which, however, managed new retirement applications rather than old ones, which stagnate even for 3 with 4 years, on the other hand "easy" cases, such as pensions of the former OGA and widow. So, in November 2020 The number of completed requests increased significantly compared to the corresponding month 2019. Specifically, while in November 2019 EFKA employees completed 11.806 applications, in November 2020 completed applications amounted to 16.529. Therefore, in total in the eleven months of January - November 2020 the increase in the completion of requests amounts to 30,86%, although for a long time the services of e-EFKA operated with reduced staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
