The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani participates again this year in the celebration of the European Days of Cultural Heritage (ΕΗΠΚ) 2022, which this year has as a common pan-European theme "Sustainable Cultural Heritage – Preserving the past for future generations» (European Heritage Days 2022: Sustainable Heritage-Preserving the past for future generations) [See the link https://www.europeanheritagedays.com/Shared-Theme ].
This year's participation of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani with title«The unknown Kambounias» is digital and includes a concise digital guide to the post-Byzantine monuments in the wider area of Camvounia and their art. Harmonizing with this year's theme of the celebration, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani focuses its attention on unknown, primarily, monuments of a region that does not usually attract visitors due to its artistic legacy, but because of its natural beauty and interest. The aim of the specific action of our Service is to publicize at a local and national level the artistic and historical importance of the post-Byzantine monuments of the Kamvounia area, in order to sensitize the local population on matters of protection of their cultural heritage, sharing with them an unknown artistic wealth of the region.
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani chose to implement a digital action this year, although for a number of years he participated in the organization with live events, inspired by the second axis of this year's pan-European common theme, which aims to adopt practices and use resources and materials in organizing events that are sustainable and reduce the environmental footprint.
At the same time, the aim of the action is to try to connect the cultural heritage and art with the special natural landscape of the region, which is also part of the Geopark Grevena Kozani "Tithys", one of the six recognized Geoparks of Greece that have been included in the Unesco World Geoparks map.
Those interested can navigate to the action's website https://agnostakamvounia.wordpress.com/ which will be fully operational from Friday afternoon 23/9/2022. It is noted that the weekend (24-25.09.2022) of the celebration the entrance to the museums, as well as in the archeological sites of the State is free according to no.
