Indignation, Anxiety and insecurity are felt by the inhabitants of the area of the mountainous Municipality of Deskati, in the Prefecture of Grevena, due to the tragic shortages of staff and equipment at the Deskati Central Hospital it serves 5,5 mm. about inhabitants, which increase in the summer months.
It is characteristic that today only two physicians serve (director and deputy director) and a pediatrician. As it is obvious, not only do the shifts not work to operate on a 24-hour basis, but even for the daily morning schedule this medical staff is not enough.
There are shortcomings in the other categories of staff, such as in ambulance drivers (there are only three), while the two ambulances are so old that they often fail. There are cases when an EKAB ambulance went from Grevena for an incident (60 mm. with bad road network), while he has been transferred with the help of the police.
The problems are timeless. There have always been shortages of resources and staff that instead of being covered are constantly expanding, since the retired staff is not replaced either.
Especially in the current conditions with the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, that lately (from 5/11) with the outbreak of coronavirus cases in Deskati 3 in 4 samples were found to be positive, proves but also imperatively imposes the need to strengthen the KY as a primary health care system
This situation is a result of the underfunding of health and the support of health entrepreneurs by all governments, EU policy. Local governments are also responsible for accepting this policy and covering up the problems of underfunding and understaffing of public health structures..
According to the above MR. Minister, What does his government intend to do to ensure the 24-hour operation of the Deskati Central Bank with generous funding from the state budget for its staffing with permanent staff of all the necessary specialties (medical – nursing and other staff) as well as its equipment with all the necessary technological and technical equipment;
