The Traffic Fees are expected to be posted on Taxisnet in November 2021 for vehicles in circulation until the end of the year. There will be no changes and the owners will pay what they paid last year.
However, the big change is expected to apply to vehicles registered for the first time after January 1st. 2020 as the new standard for measuring CO2 emissions, the so-called WLTP, is introduced, which increases from 15% the average CO2 emissions of vehicles.
Υπάρχουν σκέψεις στο οικονομικό επιτελείο να αυξηθούν κατά 20% the limits of CO2 emissions where the charging rates change so that consumers are not burdened by the new increased CO2 emissions of vehicles. However, there is another proposal according to which the Taxes on the polluting models will be increased..
Vehicle owners, as every year, will be able to pay the Traffic Fees 2021 until the end of December either in cash or using a credit card that allows them to be repaid by 9 until 12 interest-free monthly installments.
Car owners with 1st License up to 31/10/2010 will pay from 22 euros up to 1.380 euros depending on the type and year of registration.
Owners of vehicles with 1st Traffic License after November 1st 2010 pay Traffic Fees according to CO2 emissions.
The state hopes to collect approximately 1,1 billion. Euros from the Traffic Fees 2021.
What changes in what is classified after 1/1/2021
The implementation of the new CO2 emission measurement standard of the so-called WLTP from January 1 2021 is expected to change the Traffic Taxes of vehicles that will be registered for the first time after the arrival of the new year.
Δύο είναι οι προτάσεις που έχουν πέσει στο τραπέζι και εξετάζονται για τα οχήματα που θα ταξινομηθούν για πρώτη φορά μετά την 1η Ιανουαρίου 2021.
The first concerns an increase in CO2 emission limits by a percentage 20% so charges increase to higher limits. That is, right now for shows from 91 until 100 gr. CO2 owners to find the amount of Traffic Fees they will have to multiply the exact amount of their vehicle pollutants by 0,90 euros per gram. If the pollutants of a vehicle are 91 gr. CO2 then the Traffic Fees will be 82 euro.
With the new system its charge 0,90 euro per gram is not expected to apply to vehicles emitting from 91 to 100 grams but 120 grams! Therefore even if in the vehicle that will be registered for the first time after January 1st 2021 average CO2 emissions increase by 20% and ascend to 120 grams its owner will not be charged further!
Now one can reasonably ask that if in a model the average emissions are reduced then its owner will pay lower Traffic Fees 2021. Unfortunately with the new way of measuring CO2 emissions there is absolutely no model in which the measurements decrease but instead increase by at least 15% and with the vast majority increasing by 20%. So reductions in Traffic Fees 2021 they are not going to exist!
The same will happen in the other categories of pollutant emissions that change the rates and the highest category that currently concerns cars with CO2 emissions above 251 grams per km. at a rate 3,72 euro is expected to reach 300 grams.
According to newsauto.gr, There is also the second proposal examined by the Ministry of Education and Science according to which the coefficients of the limits on CO2 emissions will be increased by 20% until 180 grams per km. and from there both the limits and the charges will remain unchanged as the specific models are highly polluting and cause significant pollution to the environment. In this proposal, of course, there are suggestions to change the rates up to 200 g / CO2 per km.
