Within the week, the Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of Finance and Labor is expected, which will give the green light for the payment of the two-month extension of the OAED unemployment benefits that expired in June., in July and August, according to Dikaiologitika News.
The JMC will define the two-month extension of the OAED unemployment benefits that expired in the three months of the summer and concerns the regular unemployment subsidy, the long-term unemployment benefit and the unemployment benefits.
The decision provides in detail how the duration of the regular unemployment subsidy, of the long-term unemployment benefit, of the unemployment benefit independently and independently of the employed-insured of EFKA – τ. Ο.Α.Ε.Ε., τ. Ε.Τ.Α.Π. – Μ.Μ.Ε. and the unemployment benefit independently and independently employed-insured of EFKA – τ. EBRD (τ. TSMEDE sector, τ. TSAW sector, τ. Legal Insurance Sector), for those beneficiaries that expired in June, of July and August 2020 extended for 2 months. That is, the above beneficiaries will receive their benefits for another two months.
However, these unemployed should not have already received another two-month extension of the first 5 months of the year, in the context of emergency government measures to provide immediate and effective support to the unemployed.
More specifically, those unemployed who have already received a two-month extension due to the fact that the unemployment benefit expired in the first five months of the year are not entitled to receive another two-month extension.. That is, if someone who ended their unemployment benefit in April and got an extension in May and June will not get another two-month extension.
The two-month extension corresponds to the following amounts:
– Beneficiaries of a regular unemployment subsidy - up to 798,5 euro (to 399,25 euros per month), increasing against 10% for each protected member.
– Beneficiaries of self-employment unemployment benefits - up to 720 euro (to 360 euros per month).
Beneficiaries of long-term unemployment benefits - up to 400 euro (to 200 euros per month).
Payment is completed automatically, by direct deposit in the bank accounts and no action is required by the beneficiaries. There is no reason to come to the Employment Promotion Centers (KPA2).
Payments appear in bank accounts within 3 working days after their payment by OAED. It is noted that only those who remain unemployed during the period corresponding to the extension are beneficiaries. For example, subsidized unemployed who started working in the period after the end of their subsidy will receive a proportionally reduced amount of extension, corresponding to the length of stay in the unemployment register, following the issuance of the relevant administrative acts.
At the same time, only for the current year it is foreseen that for the granting of the regular unemployment benefit to the said employees, fifty working days are enough in the insurance of the unemployment branch of OAED. This mainly concerns tourism companies which are significantly affected by the adverse consequences of taking emergency measures to deal with the outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus and it is possible that these seasonal workers will not complete the required number of insurance days under the new conditions. be eligible for regular unemployment benefits, after the end of the tourist season.
Hence, the required number of insurance days for the payment of unemployment benefit is reduced from one hundred days per’ at least in fifty days, in order to be eligible for a regular unemployment benefit of three months and five days. Thus cat’ exception, especially for the year 2020, for workers in tourism and food professions, which fall under the approx. b) of par. 2, for the granting of the regular unemployment benefit fifty working days are enough in the unemployment insurance of OAED, in order for them to receive the regular unemployment subsidy of par. 9 of the article 6 of n. 1545/1985 (A’ 91).
