Based on the new JMC concerning the rules for keeping distances in public services to limit the dispersion of the COVID-19 corona, co-signed by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr.. Giannis Kefalogiannis the following changes are taking place regarding the protection measures for passenger vehicles, public use and private use.
Specifically, for private use vehicles:
For private passenger cars (E.I.X.) up to seven (7) seats, the transfer of three is allowed (3) passengers now the driver, versus two (2) in force.
For passenger vehicles for private use (E.I.X.) eight (8) or nine (9) private use (E.I.X.), transfer of five is allowed (5) passengers now the driver, versus four (4) in force.
Similar provisions apply to double cabins, mixed-use and van-type vehicles.
In terms of commercial vehicles:
For public passenger cars (E.D.X.. TAXI, Special Lease) and private passenger cars (E.I.X.) vehicles with a driver up to seven (7) seats, the transfer of three is allowed (3) passengers, more than the driver, versus two (2) in force.
For passenger vehicles eight (8) or nine (9) seats, for public use (E.D.X.. Special Lease) and private passenger cars (E.I.X.) Vehicles with a driver's license are allowed to carry five (5) passengers now the driver, versus four (4) in force.
In the above cases, it is exceptionally permissible to exceed the passenger limit, if they are in the vehicle, in addition to the driver, only parents with their minor children. In case the children are adults, This assistance shall be established upon presentation of a police ID or other official document (passport or driver's license). This regulation also applies to privately owned vehicles.
The use of a protective mask by passengers and the driver is mandatory in the above cases involving commercial vehicles.
For any violation of the relevant provisions, a fine of one hundred and fifty is imposed (150) euros both to the driver of the vehicle and to the passengers.
End, air conditioning is recommended to be used with settings, so that the air is not recycled in combination with open windows. In case the air conditioning is used, the air should have a vertical flow and not a horizontal one, in order not to be directed at the faces of the passengers. In each case, natural ventilation with open windows is preferred.
