Interview at e–grevena portal and the journalist Costas Markou was granted by the Member of Parliament for the Prefecture of Grevena, K. Andreas Patsis, on Saturday 23 January 2021, where he referred to numerous current issues that concern and directly or indirectly affect the Prefecture of Grevena.
Among other things, the MP referred to the future of the departments of the University of Western Macedonia in Grevena in view of the new bill of the Ministry of Education, the cooperation with the Local Government and the Region, the Hospital of Grevena, the workers' residences in the area of Kyrakali, Grevena and the E65.
The following are the main points of the interview:
The MP initially referred extensively to the burning issue of the new bill of the Ministry of Education that will affect the future of the University of Western Macedonia, stressing that "all of us who are struggling and interested in public education want its upgrade and we want universities to compete and bring out new scientists who will be able to enter the labor market not only in Greece but also abroad" concluding that "this bill gives great importance in the upgrading of Universities in general and the role of Universities in public higher education ". Then, as he commented, "this bill really has an impact on local communities and economies like Grevena", which attributed to the very low scores of a large number of entrants in the departments of Grevena, around 2,5 with 3. Urged by his personal communication with the competent Undersecretary, K. Angelos Syrigos, who recognizes the problem in the University Community of Grevena, The MP assured that he expects positive developments, commenting that "it is the intention of the Government to provide a solution to this problem".
Following the interview, the Member of Parliament referred to the issue of E65. After personal efforts, meetings and contacts of the Member of Parliament on the issue in cooperation with the Mayors of Grevena and Deskati, K. George Dastamanis and Mr.. Dimitrios Kordilas respectively, as he himself stated "it has been approved and we are pleased to announce that this project will start to be implemented very soon".
Regarding the relations with the Region, he commented that "there is a different perception and approach" while he hopes, as he clarified, that "in the future they will understand that our fight is for Grevena" assuring that he will continue to fight for the future of his prefecture.
For the Hospital of Grevena he stated "we started working from the first day in order to upgrade and modernize the Hospital of Grevena" something that as he stressed helped during the COVID pandemic since as he commented "when the crisis was created our hospital was ready by all the sides ".
On the issue of workers' housing in the area of Kyrakali that has been employed for many years, stated among other things that the project, as he had promised, is implemented as he revealed "the environmental study that is required will be submitted to the Grevena Region for approval this week and immediately after the project will be auctioned".
End, for those who accuse him of being in Athens longer, he stated that "the role of the Member of Parliament is to be in the central government and to solve the problems" something that is clearly seen through his works. After all, the actions speak for themselves and this is what the citizens of Grevena ask for and finally appreciate, since with continuous interventions, pressures and meetings of the Member of Parliament see the coveted result. Following the interview, recalled numerous issues that were resolved through his personal action and intervention even in the midst of a pandemic during which, as he rightly put it, "everything is in a state of dysfunction". The Member of Parliament is a representative of the government and must be the first to follow the instructions faithfully, something that is clear to him.. Andrea Patsi, since as he stated “we must set the example, we must not move ". One must be brainless at such a critical time, that the risk lurks on every side for the health of citizens, to ask the Member to break the bans, not following the advice of experts in the context of "Staying Safe".
"I am close to my place, I am close to my people and I try to solve the problems of our prefecture every day "concluded the MP, emphasizing that "our strength is our place".
