Fellow Builders
It's time to take matters into our own hands. How long will we tolerate this miserable state that public hospitals have fallen into?; How long will the lives of our children be played with crown letters because of the tragic shortages in the pediatric clinics in Mamatsio and Bodosakeo; How long will we tolerate no trace of primary health care;
We have had enough of promises from the current ND government, as from all the previous ones that ruled until today. The situation we live in has the stamp of all those who with the bills they voted for shaped this tragic reality. Even the self-sacrificing militant attitude of the health workers who offer their services, unfortunately it cannot change the bad situation, when there are staff shortages, in medical equipment, when the primary level of health and care is not strengthened, when in Western Macedonia we do not have a tertiary hospital for all the people to have access to high-level health services completely publicly and free of charge.
Children's ICUs do not exceed 55 throughout the country and are mainly concentrated in Attica. In Northern Greece, only Hippocrates of Thessaloniki has an ICU, while there is not a single bed in Thessaly, Epirus and Western Macedonia. The result is that small patients are transferred from one end of the country to the other, to find an ICU bed.
The Board of Directors of the Syndicate supports us, participates and invites every employee to participate in the mobilization organized by E.I.N.DY.M and the parents' associations of the city of Kozani on Wednesday 25 January 6:00pm at the gate of the Mamatse Hospital.
We claim:
· Increase in state funding of the public Health system, recruitment of permanent medical and nursing staff with full working rights.
· Staff coverage, with a permanent and stable job, of all hospital vacancies, the KY and the regional clinics of the Kozani Municipality
· Reinforcement of EKAV with staff, new and more vehicles.
· Creation of a Primary Health Care network, with the development of Health Centers under the responsibility of the state, according to the ratio in personnel and specialties that will fully cover the needs of residents and workers.
· Creation of a public and free Tertiary Hospital in Western Macedonia, staffed by all medical and clinical specialties. With Children's ICU, Newborns.
· To immediately take all the necessary measures to ensure free of charge all the necessary medicines to those who need them
