Working meeting on the "Green Transformation" of the Region of Western Macedonia, was held on the initiative of the Regional Governor Mr.. George Kasapidis, today Monday 29 November 2011 in the ZEP.
The meeting was attended by the University of Western Macedonia, η ΑΝΚΟ Α.Ε, CERTH as well as officials of the PDM.
The aim of the meeting was to create a Regional Scientific Group, which will undertake the drafting and monitoring of the plan of the "Green Transition" of the Region, ενώ παράλληλα θα θέσει τις προτεραιότητες των απαιτούμενων έργων και δράσεων μέχρι το 2030, EU target year, to reduce emissions by 55%, seeking to make PDM the most "Green" Region of the country.
Alongside, it was decided to establish a Greenery Observatory at the Regional level, with which it will be possible to timely and validly monitor the progress of the project.
The Region of Western Macedonia, Realizing the enormous opportunity given by the rapid change of energy data worldwide and taking advantage of the de-lignification and, wants to become an innovation hub, παραγωγής και διάθεσης πράσινων τεχνολογιών και εφαρμογών. The transition, however it should be done in an organized manner, with a plan and decisively as stressed by the Regional Governor, so that Western Macedonia is ahead of the developments and can take advantage of this time lead, transforming it into an economic benefit and creating new jobs.
The Regional Governor, asked the team, the plan to be ready before the Christmas holidays, while the coordination of the project is under the auspices of the Deputy Regional Head of Green Transformation , Entrepreneurship and Transport Mrs.. Ευροσύνης Ντιό.
From the side of the elected Region, in the meeting besides Mrs.. Dio, participated the Deputy Regional Head of Fair Development Transition Mr.. Grigoris Tsioumaris, ο Αντιπεριφερειάρχης Πολιτικής Προστασίας, Climate Change Impact, Environment and Infrastructure Mr.. Thomas Manos, the Vice-Regional Head of Digital Transition, Of e-Government Stergios Kianas and through a video conference the Local Vice-Governors.
