Traffic tax notices are expected to be sent in November, while the amounts that vehicle owners will be asked to pay are already known. From the obligation to pay traffic fees, however, three categories of citizens are excluded.
Specific traffic fees do not have to be paid in the following cases:
a) Vehicle immobility

b) Parents of disabled minors

The grant of the right to exemption from road tax is valid until the year of age of the disabled and for a single vehicle, even if the person to whom it is granted exercises parental responsibility or guardianship over more than one minor disabled person.
c) Disabled people who are disabled are excluded from the process of payment of traffic fees:
Complete paralysis of the lower or upper limbs or bilateral amputation.
Severe motor disability of one or both lower limbs with a total disability rate 67%.
Severe motor disability of one or both lower limbs involving one or both upper limbs, with a total disability rate of not less than 67% of which the 40% at least from one lower extremity.
Total blindness in both eyes, with a disability rate 100%.
Mental retardation with an IQ below it 40%.
Mediterranean anemia or congenital hemorrhagic mood (hemophilia).
Sickle cell or small sickle cell disease
End-stage renal disease or kidney transplantation
Autism, εφ’ as long as it is accompanied by seizures or mental retardation or organic psychosis and, because of these diseases the sufferer has become disabled, with a total disability rate of 67% and above, and is unable to work and needs help.
Traffic fees: Conditions for disability exemption
Exemption of disabled people from the payment of traffic fees is granted only if:
Ownership of the vehicle belongs 100% to the disabled, as it results from the vehicle registration certificate. In the case of a minor with a disability, the right to exemption from road tax may be granted to the person exercising parental responsibility or guardianship until the age of majority.
The condition from which the disabled person suffers falls under the above provisions.
The disabled person does not own another vehicle that has been exempted from road tax (as this results from a relevant responsible statement).
For a car that belonged to a deceased disabled person, who had been exempted from road tax due to his disability, the heirs to whom this falls fall owe circulation tax from the day following the death of the inherited calendar year.
In case of death of a person who has been granted the right to exemption from road tax on behalf of a minor with a disability, The right to exemption from road tax may be re-granted to the person appointed as a commissioner or to another person who may exercise parental responsibility until the disabled person reaches the age of majority..
Traffic fees: The amounts per cubic category
