Faced with a macabre finding, a woman came on Monday morning (23/08), the moment she took her walk in the forest of Kareas.
As he walked on the forest path, something that stood out next to the path caught her eye and when she looked more carefully, he realized that they were bones and immediately called the Police.
A group of men from the Byron Security Department went to the spot and an anthropologist was called. A human skeleton was tentatively placed on the ground and above it, the strangers who had deposited the body there, they had covered it with tree branches.
There were only bare bones and the clothes were completely melted, which indicates that the body must have been there long enough. The skeleton was taken for anthropological examination to first determine if it was a man or a woman, whether the time of death can be determined to some extent and whether or not there is evidence of criminal activity.
An attempt will be made to extract DNA from the skeleton to make a cross with the archived genetic material of missing persons., lest any identification arise from there. The investigation has been undertaken by the Athens Security Sub-Directorate.
