At 4/12/2020, KKE parliamentary group submits question to parliament on problems with Serbian Health Center, due to understaffing. The question indicated that: the tragic shortages in staff and equipment of the Serbian Police, is a result of the long-term underfunding of health and the support of health entrepreneurs by all governments. Local governments are also responsible for accepting this policy and covering up the problems of underfunding and understaffing of public health structures..
In response to the question of the KKE parliamentary group, the government simply captures with concrete boards the tragic shortcomings that exist in the staff of the Serbian Central Committee and makes a reference to some recruitments that it would make, general practitioners and nursing staff, that do not solve the problem. On the contrary, they make it worse, because it is known that especially in the current conditions with the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, staff are often diverted from one public structure to another to temporarily meet the enormous needs of the public health system. As a result, the Serbian Central Committee is permanently understaffed and we are coming today, 18 about months after our party's question in parliament, the Serbian Central Committee with the main responsibility of the government, not only that the existing vacancies have not been filled, so that it can serve the thousands of inhabitants in Serbia and the neighboring villages, but according to information and publications, the maternity ward is in danger of closing down, due to the relocation of the only midwife serving in it, in KY near Thessaloniki. Due to the gaps that exist, the staff can not even take leave if they get sick, to move according to his needs, as otherwise the operation of parts is "shaken" in the air.
This will be a very big blow to the Serb region, since it will force young women, or give birth like previous generations (at home or in the field without medical help), or given the huge shortages in public hospitals, to resort to private maternity hospitals - companies, which means a huge cost to the popular family that is impossible to meet in the current conditions.
We call on the government and the ministry to take all the necessary measures so as not to close the maternity ward of the Serbian Hospital. To be covered here and now 6 organic positions for midwives to ensure the smooth operation of the department, as well as the specialty of gynecologist. There is a need for K.Y.. Serbia to be staffed with all the necessary permanent staff of all specialties as well as with the necessary technical equipment, to ensure its 24-hour operation.
We call on the Serbian people not to accept this situation, which treats public health as a cost and devalues the public health sector, while at the same time leading him into the arms of health business groups as an expensive commodity. This policy can not meet the modern needs of the people, is dangerous even for his own life. We call on the people of the wider Serbian region to fight for a Serb Central Hospital that is able to meet the modern health needs of the people of the region..
The KKE fights for exclusively state power, free of charge, public health system. A health system whose services will be in practice a guaranteed social good and not as it is today, expensive goods. With full funding of public health units and their full staffing with mass recruitment of permanent staff.
